Name: Mineral: Springs Greenway
Last here March 22 2016
Great place to take a walk even if you don’t have a camera with you. The Trail is very well maintained, but still natural and beautiful.
GPS Address: 6214 McNeely Rd, Waxhaw, NC 28173
Parking : Huge Gravel parking lot near McNeely Farms on McNeely Road. note there is an entrance and an exit do to blind curve in road.
Difficulty: Easy, 2 miles one way
The trail follows a small stream most of the way to the end, there are some bridges where needed or stepping stones. The first half is rockier and up and down a bit (watch out for loose rocks) but nothing that would be considered stressful. The second mile is flat and always muddy in places. if you are not sure which way to go on the way out go right. When you get to the "Boy Scout bridge" you are at the end (see pic below). Horses do use this trail so give them the right of way and watch your step! A Carolina Thread Trail
Trail Surface: natural
Kind of photos: Nature photography. Lots of big trees, plants and insects. Some tiny rapids in the stream.
Have taken some cool pictures of maiden flies and mushrooms.
Lens most used: 24mm / 90 macro
